History

The 2000GT revolutionized the automotive world in Japan. Fastback demonstrated that Japanese automakers are able to build sports cars - the real competitors to the best brands in Europe at the time.
The pre-production 2000GT was described by Road & Track magazine in 1967 as "one of the most exciting and enjoyable cars we've ever driven" and positively compared it to the iconic Porsche 911 of the time.

It was this car - the specially produced factory "convertible" - that saved James Bond (Sean Connery) in the "You Only Live Twice" movie.
A total of 351 cars were produced. Today, the 2000GT is Japan's number one collectible car and Japan's first supercar from the 1960s. Some 2000GTs were sold at auction for $ 1-1.2 million.
