When the 964 was introduced in the late 1980s, it introduced cutting-edge driving and aerodynamic technology that paved the way for all future models. Today, it is one of the most sought-after 911 models.
The first 964 Turbo, which was sold for the 1991 and 1992 model years, used a 3.3-liter engine producing 320 hp, but in 1993, Porsche switched to a 3.6-liter engine producing 360 hp. The Turbo was sold primarily as a coupe, although there was also a limited-edition convertible. Turbo variants included the Turbo S Leichtbau (or “light”) and the “flat-nose” Turbo S Flachbau with its distinctive sloping front end.
