History
The first sports car from Mercedes-Benz in the post-war period. The model was first presented at the New York Auto Show in 1954 as a street version of the W194 racing car. The idea for its creation belongs to the American luxury car dealer Max Hoffman, who caught the interest of wealthy fans of fast cars in the rapidly developing post-war American market.
Initially, the car was produced only as a two-seater coupe with unique gullwing doors, but in 1957 an open version appeared - a roadster. Any paint except silver metallic was an option. Our poster shows the "Red" Gullwing Coupe. Only 1,400 Coupe models were produced.
