Developed by the team of the infamous Lee Iacocca, the Ford Mustang - is a true American classic "pony car" from Ford. The prototype is the Ford Falcon Sprint. It was so well advertised that over a million units were sold within eighteen months of its release.
Its moderate-size and chrome trim was not common for American auto market of that time. The car introduced the fashion for "pony-class" cars - designed as a sports car, with a powerful but serial engine and a coupe-shaped body with long hoods and short rear parts. The Mustang has inspired many American and even foreign manufacturers to release similar models.
