HistoryAuto Union Type D was another innovative racing car of the late 1930s, demonstrating the outstanding achievements of German automotive engineering and was part of the so-called "Silver Arrows".
Equipped with a supercharged 3.0-liter V12, the Type D developed up to 485 horsepower, offering incredible capabilities on the race track.
Its streamlined aluminum body and independent suspension improved speed and stability, allowing it to compete with competitors such as Mercedes-Benz. During its short but significant racing career, the Type D achieved significant victories, including a victory at the Italian Grand Prix with the legendary driver Tazio Nuvolari.
The innovative design of Auto Union laid the foundations for future achievements in the automotive industry, influenced modern sports cars and Formula 1 cars.
